STEP UP!
We envision a CSSP that has identity, distinct and eloquent alongside other colleges, a CSSP that has impact - one that moves and leaves an indeliblemark on the society it seeks to understand and serve, a CSSP that truly embodies the role it should play in bringing about social change.
KAPPULSUHAN
(College-wide Assembly)
We aim to strengthen the link between the CSSP students, the council and the administration through a college-wide assembly where students could voice outtheir comments and suggestions, air their concerns and build unity among the stakeholders on pressing issues in the College and the University.
SiyASat
Through department representatives, special arms and alliances, we will gather all the problems faced by the students-- tuition and other fees increases, to the difficulties faced per department and organization, and administrativepolicies. All of these will be collated in one document and will be released in the middle of the school year. This will be our basis for launching campaigns thatgenuinely cater to the students’ rights and welfare.
KAPPdates!
Aside from org hopping and room-to-room discussions, we envision a multi-faceted means of information dissemination by creating a CSSP Events calendar (to be posted offline and online) for the activities of the CSSP Student council and the different organizations and departments in the College.
UPAC ORGS! (Unity Project Among College Organizations)This aims to bring College-based organizations closer through a unity project whose proceeds will go directly to the funds of CSSP Student Council.
TAMBAYAN (Talakayang Makabayan)
We will raise awareness about the issues of our society to CSSP students through regular educational discussions on the national and sectoral situation as well as oncurrent events.
CSSP Book Drive and Sale
We encourage the CSSP students and faculty to donate their old books and readings and help the Student Council in re-establishing the CSSPSC Library (Aklatang KAPP).
AKLATANG KAPP
This is a mechanism of request and acquisition of books and journals for the Main Library Social Sciences Section and existing Department libraries.
FST FTW! (Freshies, Shiftees,Transferres, For the Win!)This program aims to guide freshies, shiftees and transferees not only through leaflets with directions and instructions but also through hands-on assistance byincluding shiftees and transferees in the freshie blocks and active supervision of the department representatives with their respective core groups.
ENGAGE!
We aim for a CSSP that actively embraces its role in our society and that is genuinely engaged in addressing the issues of the different sectors of the society, a CSSP that immersed in different social realities, and not confined within the four walls of our classrooms and comfort of our virtual zones.
CSSP KILOS NA!
The alliance initially formed by the students as a local chapter of UP Kilos Na, an alliance of organizations and individuals fighting for democratic governance and democratic access to basic social services, shall become multi-sectoral (faculty, staff, administrative personnel).KAPPIT-BISIGThis projects aims to raise awareness of the CSSP community regarding theissue of campus security and lobby for the rights and concerns of our securitypersonnel.
CSSP VAR CODE!
We will engage athletic CSSP students to join and strengthen the CSSP Varsity teams via KAPPALAKASAN and devise various means to generate funds for them.
KAPPALAKASAN HOUSE CUP
Unlike the traditional KAPPALAKASAN, each house will be composed of players from different departments. This event will not only promote camaraderie among CSSP students but will also serve as a venue for selecting prospective members of CSSP Varsity teams.
MAGBALIK sa KAPP!
This project will seek cooperation with the CSSP alumni to give back to the College and acquire their support for various CSSP Student Council activities.
TRANSFORM!
We envisage a CSSP that is not limited by their academic responsibilities and is able to harness all understanding and engagement of the CSSP students and transform it into relevant action, alongside the society it seeks to serve.
KAPPULUAN
This project aims to increase the number of enrollees in the courses under CSSP by launching tie-up activities with provincial and regional organizations and the SANLAHI Alliance, an alliance of provincial and regional organizations.
TalastASan
It will be a per semester forum that tackles the pressing issues in our society using the different theories of their respective disciplines.
Gabi ng KAPPatiran (CSSP Solidarity Night)
This will feature the artistic talents of CSSP organizations and students as well as a night of recognition for notable individuals based on their contribution to their respective fields in social sciences and philosophy and to the society. The funds that will be raised will go to the lobbying efforts of Kanlungan Alliance of Organizations.
OPTIMIZE!
We push for a CSSP that consistently dedicates itself in bringing about the most optimal change through collective action that goes far, far beyond university walls and virtual realities.
KAPPiling ang Masa (Basic Masses Integration)
As social scientists and philosophers, we must be integrated with the society that we are studying. We must not isolate ourselves from the different sectors that weserve and must be always linked to them through exposure trips alongside with the marginalized sectors and nearby urban poor communities.
SaliksiKAPP (CSSP Student Review)
A research paper convention that will tackle the current and prevailing issues in our society wherein the students of CSSP will be able to apply the different perspectives of their respective disciplines and present them in public. Selected papers will be published in a student journal.
CSSP Student Review
A student journal that showcases selected papers presented at the SaliksiKAPP.
Fair Job and Scholarship Fair
A job and scholarship fair that features research, governmental and non governmental institutions that truly employ the skills and talents of the CSSP students and would meet the needs of our country and society.
WALK OF FAME: Social Scientists of the People
This project will honor the prominent CSSP alumni and their significant contributions to the College and society in general. This aims to inspire young social scientists and philosophers, as well as to establish connections with our alumni to gain their support for the projects of the CSSP Student Council.
GC: GRADUATE CIRCLE
This project aims to integrate the graduate students into the College and to acquaint them with the other graduate students from the different disciplines and to involve them in the latest happenings and undertakings in the College.
IN-CIRCLE
This effort aims to restructure the existing alliances and special arms of the CSSP Student Council (the Volunteer Corps, Freshie Circle, Academic Circle) and encourage them to launch projects that promote not only their disciplines and organizations but also the cause and issues of the society.
Committee on Organizations, Fraternities, Sororities and Student Formations
This special committee, in cooperation with the exisiting Kanlungan Alliance of Organizations, will be established to address the concerns of student organizations and formations, fraternities and sororities. As students of the University, we must unite to fight for our democratic rights and for a University of the people.
